During this meeting we had a DCM recap, talked about UNICEF and some things we came across, and the service project committee.
This month's DCM was held at the Chinatown Community Center from 1 to 3. Kevin and some officers from Garfield lead us in a game of common ground and a cookie decorating contest. For the cookie decorating contest we were given cookies, cookie decorating materials, and 20 minutes to make the the best Key Club Halloween cookie ever! Prizes were a ninja sword, kitten calender, and a pack of fake mustaches.First place was won by our very own Ariana Frigillana and she choose the ninja sword!
We ran into some problems with fundraising for UNICEF with the administration. We were told that we cannot raise money for UNICEF in school. Don't worry about all the funds you have raised so far. From this point on just don't fund raise at school. We'll be needing those boxes back next meeting so we can count up who raised the most money and water balloon some officers!
Sungmin and Ben are recruiting around 10 Key Clubbers that can help them search and brainstorm potential Service Projects. Its an opportunity for Key Clubbers to dig deeper roots and take on leadership roles. Contact Sungmin or Ben for details.
ALSO! We cant get information to you if you're not paying attention during the meeting so please try to be respectful to those speaking and to those who are there to listen. We don't mean to call people out. It's hard to listen and hard to get information out if people are constantly having side conversations, on their phones or doing other things. Phones and other things will always be there for you. You can use them during transitions and stuff, we don't really care. It's not class, just don't abuse that.
If you're reading this tell David 3 things you got out of this article and you'll get a treat.
