In today's meeting we talked about UNICEF, we had a DCM recap, Tony shared his story, had people sign up for concessions, we had people pay their dues, and we played games.
The DCM was at Jefferson Park in Beacon Hill. It's like a regular Key Club meeting except with people from other schools in our division. We play some games, met new people, and ate food! A few of us went off to play tennis as well.
It's that time of year when things get cold and spoOoOoOoky. For some of you that means costumes and candy. For others its going around collecting change for UNICEF! UNICEF is an organization that give so people in need. The money we raise goes to Syria, Philippines, Haiti, Central Africa Republic, South Sudan, Mali, Sahel, and Horn of Africa. The money we raise goes into things like water, nutrition, and immunizations (Ebola, HIV/AIDS, Malaria). What we do is we get these little boxes. On Halloween or anytime you have the chance you ask people for spare change. They put it in the box and boom, you've done your part. All of the money we raise goes to UNICEF and then to those in need.
Next off Dues! Dues are $13 and are due Monday October 6th! Out of the $13, $6.50 is international dues and the rest is for district dues to keep the club running. Also for sports they should talk to one of the officers before hand about their other commitments like sports so they can get that extension
Tony told his anecdote of how he rode the short bus when he was a kid. He didn't know that the short bus was for special people. People laughed and made fun of him but he made no sense of it.
The game we played today was: Common Ground
Things were pretty.. common LOL
