Today we talked about Key Leader, the potluck, Jingle Bell Run, Pancake Breakfast, Nicklesville, officer elections, and the November DCM. Also, the West Seattle officers came to visit us and see how our meeting went.
The potluck is this Friday! Officers will be water ballooned and food will be eaten. But wait.. whats a potluck without food? It sucks. Sign up to bring food by telling an officer what you've bringing. You will be offered service hours according to what you bring.
Seattle's Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis is a fun and festive way to kick off your holidays by helping others. Wear a holiday themed costume. Tie jingle bells to your shoelaces. Raise funds to fight arthritis, the nation's leading cause of disability. Run or walk a 5 kilometer route with your team members and celebrate the season by giving. - Click here to see more.
The Pancake Breakfast will be on Saturday December 6th from 7am-11am at the Alki Masonic Building at 4726 40th Ave SW. We will be doing a variety of activities helping the event go as smoothly as possible. Click here for more details.
For those of you who don't know, Nicklesville is a community of homeless people support one another. We're trying to help them out and beat the harsh winter by providing them with the necessities that are not readily available to them. We're collecting things like firewood, blankets, sleeping bags, tarps, drinking water, tents, twine or rope, air tight food storage
containers, trash bags, clothing, flashlights, batteries, canned food, office supplies, neon security vests, plastic utensils, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, and duct tape. There will be a box in Ms. Autenrieth's room. We'll be collecting until Friday so get word out and help us collect as much as possible!
Officer Elections! Those who are planning on, or considering running for an officer position should talk to an officer to learn more about what they do and how it contributes to the club. Being a Key Club officer gives you leadership skills, even more volunteer hours, something to brag about, and the opportunity to make a difference in the community and beyond. If you read this make barn animal noises when Kris starts talking, except if he's shushing you.
November DCM! The November Divisional Meeting will be a Thanksgiving themed finger painting competition! We'll also go over some Key Club information regarding LTG Elections and DCON! Chief Sealth is assigned to bring utensils/plates.
